Bailey

Location: Australia

Humpback Whale #1690, a female now known as Bailey, was first sighted in 1996 in both Byron Bay and further south along the migration route in Eden, Australia. She was identified as a female after being spotted with a calf in Eden in 2006. Bailey has since been seen in Hervey Bay with a calf in 2010 and 2016. She offers a wonderful example of subtle mark changes on the fluke with barnacle scars missing from more recent fluke photos. However, the trailing edge and the center notch clearly indicate that she is, indeed, Bailey!
