Matt Whaleo aka Docuwhale, named by the Documo Team, was first seen by PWF researchers in 1994, and then again in 1998 and 1999. 14 years later, this whale was sighted in Maui waters. The most recent encounter of this whale was in 2021, where the research team was able to successfully launch a UAS (drone) over the animal to get aerial morphometric measurements.
